IP54 Rated enclosure for industrial electronics
This client project required the development of a new die-cast housing for electronics to interface with an existing range of process pumps. The PCB development had already been started by the clients in-house PCB design team.
The challenge was to create a compact yet attractive housing suitable for low-volume manufacture with an IP54 ingress protection rating. The investment cast housings, labels & gaskets were all designed on SolidWorks to produce a compact housing that was easily integrated with existing pump hardware. The design was proven by the production of 3D CAD data enabling the client to order fully representative investment cast zinc housings. The all critical IP54 ingress protection rating was proven at the first attempt by an external test-house.
